Founded originally in 2012 as Phoenix Tactical LLC, Bryan Bryner and his sons Zack and Nick set out to change the local firearms industry. Through trial and tribulation over the last decade, and a hellacious team behind them, the Bryner family opened Buckeye Shooting Center in 2021. Buckeye Shooting Center, an 18,000sqft state-of-the-art interactive indoor shooting range, is the first of it's kind in Central Ohio open to the public!

James "Jimmy" Hawke is the first & current CEO of Buckeye Shooting Center. Born and raised in Newark, OH, Jimmy's roots are cemented in the local community. Jimmy is an avid hunter, shooter, and outdoorsmen. After an illustrious 23-year career in the United States Army, Jimmy joined Buckeye Shooting Center in 2018. Utilizing his years of experience as a First Sergeant in the Army, Jimmy leads the expert staff at Buckeye Shooting Center.
A Licking Valley HS graduate of 2006, Zack Bryner is the Chief Operations Officer of Buckeye Shooting Center. Upon graduation from High School, Zack enlisted in the United States Air Force as an Intelligence Operations Analyst. During his tenure in the Air Force, Zack had the opportunity to work with some of the most prestigious Intelligence Organizations around the world to include the DIA, CIA, NSA, and many NATO organizations. Moreover, Zack is a veteran of Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Horn of Africa. In his post-military career, Zack worked remotely for the family business while completing his bachelor’s degree in business from Wright State University. As the Operations Officer, Zack implements business strategies and oversees operations, while promoting the culture and vision of Buckeye Shooting Center.
A Licking County entrepeneur & employer for the last 2 decades, Bryan is the patriarch behind the founding of Phoenix Tactical (now Buckeye Shooting Center). An avid outdoorsman, Bryan is also an Eagle Scout and retired Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force.
A 2008 Licking Valley HS/CTEC graduate, Nick is the youngest son of Bryan, and younger brother of Zack. Leaving his job as an electrian apprentice, Nick was the linchpin for a brand new business. From the company's infancy, Nick was the keystone to early, and continued, success. Today, Nick operates as the Buying Officer for Buckeye Shooting Center, and is single-handedly responsible for maintaining relationships with hundreds of vendors/manufactures. Bringing you all the products the industry has to offer!
